How long will it take for my product to arrive?
Estimated shipping time is between 15-20 business days. For orders
that are on back order, customers will be notified with an estimated shipping
date. Delivery times are estimates only and are subject to change without
notice. Out-of-stock and back ordered items will be shipped when available.
Items may be dropped or discontinued without notice.
What should I do if my product arrives damaged?
Most of the items we ship cannot be sent via UPS or FEDEX. We use
major carriers like G.I. Trucking and R&L. These carriers require that a
person be at the place of delivery when they arrive. When the piece you
ordered is delivered, you must inspect it before the delivery person leaves.
If you do not ensure the item is undamaged, we cannot issue any claims for
damages. Once you have inspected the piece, you will be required to sign for
it. The major carriers will NOT carry the item you ordered inside your house.
They can only deliver to the front door or driveway area. From there, it will
be your responsibility to move the item inside. Since most of our items are
very large, you will probably need at least one other person to help you carry
your item inside. If you ordered a small item, it will be shipped via UPS or
FEDEX, in which case, delivery will follow UPS's or FEDEX's standard delivery
procedure.
Merchandise is inspected and carefull packed before leaving our
warehouse. It is the purchaser's responsibility to examine merchandise for
damage before signing Carrier's Bill of Lading. The Carrier/Delivery service
upon accepting shipment assumes the responsibility for safe delivery.
Therefore, claims for merchandise delivered broken or damaged must be reported
directly to the Carrier and they will provide you with instructions on how to
proceed with the claim. WE CANNOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR MERCHANDISE WHICH
IS DAMMAGED BY THE CARRIER.
Do you accept returns?
All orders are final unless cancelled in writing within four days of
the order. Orders cancelled after four days are subject to a 25% restocking
fee. Cost of return for online merchandise is the sole responsibility of the
customer. Return of goods will not be accepted without prior authorization and
specific instructions from The Rustic Home Company.
Can I change the color of my item after I have already placed my order?
Yes. You must call or e-mail The Rustic Home within five days of
placing your order. Please include your name, item and date of purchase, and
the new color you would like for your item. Please make sure you check the
color availability on that item before requesting the change.
Can I order a color sample before I make my purchase?
Yes. If you would like to see actual paint samples we will send you
a set of our wood painted samples for $15.00 per set. You may choose the solid
colors or the distressed colors. When you then purchase an item you can deduct
that $15.00 as a credit. That way your wood samples are, "on us".
Are there color samples for the Napoca items?
Not at this time. The Napoca items are finished in Romania and since
this our newest line, we do not yet have color samples for these items.
Typically the Napoca colors are very similiar to the solid colors though some
tend to be slightly brighter or bolder.
How should I care for my product?
All items in the The Rustic Home Company collection are handcrafted
and MAY VARY in finish, staining, coloration and size from others you may
have seen or received. All solid wood products are subject to shrinkage,
warping and seasonal cracks over time and will experience normal seasoning
(remember,these were once living trees). It must be remembered, however, that
these occurrences are non structura and will not affect the durability of the
piece. In many cases these variances will enhance the beauty of the piece
giving it a cherished, heirloom appearance. Variances in wooden finishes,
including worn edges, uneven planks, dents, scratches and nicks are considered
a natural characteristic of the item's unique Handcrafted charm and beauty.
Given minimal care, The Rustic Home Company products will provide years of
use. Accessories are decorative in nature and not for use in the preparation
or storage of food or for holding water. Linings should be employed for same.
Unless specifically warranted for outdoor use, iron and wood products should
be sheltered from the elements. Wood products will benefit from waxing every
3-6 months. To remove water stains, apply a small amount of wax locally with
fine steel wool, rub in the direction of the wood grain until stain
disappears, allow to dry and buff with a soft cloth. Use a high quality
natural paste wax.
